Fresh off of last week's posts about Rainn and the 2008 Spirit Awards, I have found some more videos Rainn did for the awards. These videos are all Rainn "auditioning" for parts in the movies being awarded.
The first is Rainn trying out for Juno as the part of Juno.
The next is Rainn trying out for a part in I'm Not There.
Here's Rainn making fun of the name Winterbottom.
Here's Rainn trying out for Paranoid Park with some mad skateboarding skills. This one has a NSFW Rainn Wilson ass shot near the end, so exercise caution.
Once more clip, here's Rainn getting "initiated" by Dennis Hopper. I won't tell you what it involves, but only a crazy indie film award show would come up with this.
On a side note, I don't know if you saw the first season of 24 (and if you haven't, you really, really should), but Dennis Hopper was a pretty good bad ass in that season. His 71 year old bones would scare me if I ran into him on the streets today.

BCS: Man Crush List 2008
Last week I told you I was trying to find a way to stay fresh, and the Skeet Thrower Draft got a great response (be on the lookout for a new one next week). But just because you're staying fresh doesn't mean you have to throw away a staple of this blog. So, starting today, I'll be unveiling my 2008 BCS Lists. Today, the BCS Man Crush List.
Just to recap, here's the rules:
The Rules
- Anyone, real or fictional, can be a candidate for the man-crush list. Pretty much all this means is you can't just make someone up.
- I am not gay (not that there's anything wrong with that). That said, this is a man-crush list. Take it as you will.
- The man-crush list is kept at 3 (while my other BCS lists stretch to 5).
The BCS Man-Crush List
3) Joel McHale
Joel hold's down the 3rd spot again this year. The Soup was one of the only shows that consistently produced through the writer's strike and I consistently looked forward to the half-hour with him each week. Plus he's got this video which is kinda applicable to this post.
2) Rainn Wilson
His ability to portray Dwight is amazing, but its the fact that he's funny at a lot of other stuff as well that gets him on this list. I don't really have any stipulations for making this list, but the fact that I will watch anything I find with Rainn Wilson is pretty telling.
Here's a couple creepy Rainn Wilson clips that you probably haven't seen. First, Rainn on CSI.
Second, Rainn on Six Feet Under (gracias to Wheezy for the hat tip).
It shows how talented of an actor he is that he can play those roles and still do this:
1) Michael Cera
Michael Cera takes the top spot on this year's BCS Man Crush list. Much like Rainn, I watch anything and everything that features Michael Cera (including all of these videos). He tops Rainn with some solid movies like Juno and Superbad. Plus, I get a half-chub just thinking about an AD movie. Also, I love retro polos. Anyway, here's an old clip.
And that's the man crush list. Sadly I had to remove Jack Bauer (no shows and I'm not watching the DVD's again...we've just grown apart) and Gilbert Arenas because he's been injured too much and his injury last year cost me a championship. That said, Gilbert almost made it because of these ridiculous shoe commercials.
On second thought, maybe it's better that he's a runner up...
Have a good weekend.

Make It Rainn On This Film
If you're missing your Dwight/The Office/Rainn Wilson fix (the show will be back in April!), I think I have something to help you out. Apparently some the Film Independent Spirit Award committee hired Rainn to make some funny videos. I've included a couple here. (On a side note, doesn't "Spirit Award" sound like a code word for "Participant"? Who likes the participant ribbons? I hated when they gave those things out at competitions I was at. Did they win? No. So why in the hell would they want to remember it? I remember I got a participant ribbon once. I threw it away on my way out of the competition.)
Here's Rainn in the 3rd (and funniest) part of his interview with Jason Reitman (the director of Juno).
The first 2 parts can be seen here and here (the 3rd is easily the funniest).
Here's Rainn interviewing Todd Haynes who directed something called I'm Not There, which I know nothing about..but the interview is funny.
I just went back and looked at the cast from the movie I'm Not There and there are apparently two characters in the movie names Hobo Joe and Hobo Moe. I'll probably see it now. Anyway, Rainn also has an interview with a fake Julian Schnabel, who I also know nothing about.

Year In Recap: Septiembre
Su hora para la recapitulación de septiembre. Había solamente 10 postes en septiembre así que será corta. Consecuentemente, estoy mecanografiando todo en español primero.
It's time for the September recap. There were only 10 posts in September, so it should be pretty quick.
Los videos más ridículos del mes estaban en un poste titulado ataque de los flotadores del desfile. Demuestra encajonado algunos de los años 80 peores que desfilan los X-Hombres los flotadores he visto siempre.
The most ridiculous videos of the month were in a post entitled Attack of the Parade Floats. It showcased some of the worst 1980's X-Men parade floats I have ever seen.
Probablemente di a Carlton Alfonso la prensa más positiva que lo reciben en un rato largo con un poste titulado ¿Adónde Carlton Alfonso Fue? Ese muchacho podría bailar.
I probably gave Carlton Alfonso the most positive press he's received in a long time with a post entitled Where Did Carlton Alfonso Go? That boy could dance.
In my ever growing man crush on Rainn Wilson (he appeared in like 3 September posts) I showed you a bunch of Rainn/US Soccer (that didn't turn out like we expected, huh?) commercials in a post called Britney Dwight in a Bra. I apparently really loved to use the strike feature as well.
En el poste Qué Hizo este Verano? Recapitulé las películas del verano y le di algún hombre araña ridículo los videos. Éste no era probablemente uno de mis postes mejores, pero pensé que ató todo junto agradable.
In the post What Did I Do This Summer? I recapped the summer movies and gave you some ridiculous Spiderman videos. This was probably not one of my better posts, but I thought it tied everything together nicely.

I'm About To Make It Rainn!
As you all know, I'm not a big fan of SNL anymore. It's just not funny. And with NBC posting all of their best clips on the YouTube.com, it makes it pretty easy to catch the good skits.
This week; however, was hosted by Rainn Wilson (aka, Dwight T. Schrute) and I wanted to watch it. But I forgot about it because of my new big screen TV (tired of hearing about that yet?). Fortunately, hardly anybody watched it and NBC put some of the best clips back on the Internets.
So I started by watching the monologue. It was pretty damn funny.
The irony of that skit is that SNL needed to use material from another funny show to be funny themselves. On a side note, how bad is Kenan at impressions life. I can do a better impression of Stanley and I'm only half-black. Honestly, I think they only reason they put him in Fat Albert is because they didn't have to pay for a fat suit. That, and his love for puddin' pops.
But I digress, in the clips I have seen, Dwight was pretty funny. So, in an effot to help you catch up, I'm going to make it Rainn on you with all kinds of clips from Dwight. As is usual with SNL, I'll let you decide what was funny and what was [censored].
The first clip is called White Possum Scream, a short based on Samuel L. Jackson's new movie Black Snake Moan. As a side note, I first saw the trailer to that movie on the opening night of Snakes on a Plane. Everyone in the theater cheered when SLJ showed up on screen and the cheering continued pretty much throughout the entire trailer, so all I knew about the movie was that it featured a half-naked, chained up Christina Ricci and an SLJ that looked like hell. Then the title was Black Snake Moan. Seemed like a porn to me. Now I find out that its going to have a plot as well. Speaking of porn, if you ever wanted to see Dwight in a diaper (you know, if you're down for stuff like that), you'll get that chance with this clip.
The next clip is a SNL Digital Short. They've had some success in the past, so I had high hopes for this one. It is entitled Business Marketing. I think the Tiger is the funniest part.
I have to say that I was disappointed with that last one. I'm not sure if it is still the Kenan hangover from White Possum Scream or from watching so many god damn Good Burger clips trying to find one that was funny and showed Kenan. I thought they could have done better. It was ok, though.
Anyway, I didn't want to leave you with a sour note, so here are a couple more clips featuring Dwight. The first is Dwight and Jim on The Ellen Show, which has a surprising number of clips on the YouTube.com. It's a pretty funny listening to them, features a clip of The Office where Michael says he knows a bunch of 14-year-old girls and also features a dance-off between Dwight and Jim where they are doing the same things that Shaq-daddy was doing at the all-star game practice (apparently that's pretty popular). Good times.
If you didn't get your fill (or want to waste more time before you go back to doing whatever it is you do), you can check out this clip of just Dwight on Ellen (not literally, of course, because Ellen likes the box). The funny part of this clip is that Dwight owns a picuture of monkeys holding things that look like dildos.
Hope you enjoyed wasting your time today. I usually let you find the content in the links on your own, but you prolly, and by prolly I mean really, should go watch the video links at Samuel L. Jackson and Christina Ricci. Just saying.
And, no, I don't watch Ellen - ever - but YouTube.com has a ton of clips...

Nothing Like A Rap Cover
I'm a huge mix tape guy. Ever since I was in high school, I have been checking out websites that sell the same mix tapes that you could buy bootleg style from some dude on the corner of NY or DC (of course, once Napster and other things file-sharing tools, I was able to actually check out the songs on said mix tapes, but that's neither here nor there). Mix tapes are great because DJs in NY will generally push the new singles before they are on radio, so you can get a jump on what's new, you can get some great freestyles and diss tracks and you can also get some mix tape exclusive remixes and covers (that's a Kanye remix, and if you have time and like Kanye, check it out - it includes the line, "she ain't pregnant but she's about to have twins." Genious). A lot of times, the remixes are trash, but every once in a while, you get a gem. My favorite remixes, for some reason, always seem to be when someone takes a hip-hop song and slows it waaaaay down (in other words they cover it in their own style). For instance, Alanis did that remix/cover of My Humps (which was an atrocious song) and made it awesome and actually tolerable. Another example is Jamie Cullum, who actually covered Frontin' by Pharrell, which was a cool song to begin with. Somehow Cullum made it even better - probably because he reminded me of Van Morisson and his singing is tolerable.
Wow, that was a long paragraph. Anyway, one of my favorite covers was by Dynamite Hack (Austin, Texas, baby!). They covered Eazy-E's Boyz N the Hood. This is an older one, but it is awesome.
Ah, yes - nothing like a couple of white boys singing some hardcore rap. But it doesn't stop there, you may or may not have heard of Jonathan Coulton. I don't know anything about him, but he did cover Sir Mix-a-Lot's Baby Got Back.
Pretty good, right? Where is this all going? Well, you may or may not have watched the Emmy's on Sunday (I didn't as there was football to be watched), but I did catch it on tape delay (aka the Internets). There was a segment featuring Rainn Wilson where he sings the lyrics to Kanye's "Stronger". Its pretty funny if you haven't seen it.
Ah, Rainn. You always leave me satisfied and smiling.

Britney Dwight in a Bra
I watched parts of the VMAs on Sunday night (I DVR'd it and am waiting to watch the full broadcast with my wife). I immediately came here and began to write a post about how bad Britney Spears's performance was (some people have ripped her for looking bad, but I don't think that's the case at all. Is she as tight as before? No. But she's also had two kids and been on coke/meth/somthing. Cut her some slack). Then there was media overload that reminded me of the whole Miss USA fell down thing. By now, I'm sure you're sick of it, so I'll just refer you to an old post where I talk about Britney to state my feelings.
So, if you've heard enough about Britney in her bra, what do you want to hear about? How about Dwight Schrute in a bra! I don't know if you've seen the commercials for the US women's soccer team featuring Jim Mike. Now, I know your first reaction is "Wait. Dwight can't be Jim!", this is true (except for one time). Fortunately, Dwight is actually an actor named Rainn Wilson (I know that's a Dwight clip), so he can act as other people. Amazing. Want to see proof? I've included the five (5!) commercials below. Since they're commercials, they're short, so you shouldn't feel guilty for watching them.
The first three commercials are about Jim Mike auditioning for his position.
#1
#2
#3 (this one is my favorite)
I know what you're thinking "Funny, but didn't you promise me Dwight in a bra?" Why yes I did and its a rule of mine that anytime I promise someone a man in a bra, I deliver. On a side note, it is also a rule of mine to never trust a man with two first names. This would disqualify Jim Mike from ever entering my circle of excellence trust. Anyway, without further ado, here's Dwight Schrute/Jim Mike/Rainn Wilson in a bra.
There seems to be a new one every day. As I was writing this, I saw a new one and had to update the post. Here's the final commercial to date.
If you watched the commercials, you saw the motto "Greatest team you've never heard of" (which is grammatically incorrect, Jim Mike) but also very similar to this blog's unofficial motto "The 4th greatest non-daily pop-culture black-hole blog that you have heard of because your reading this but that most people haven't heard of." See the similarities? They even end with the same grammatical incorrectness. I should look into whether Jim Mike stole this from me...I knew I couldn't trust that guy.
* I forget who originally sent me those commercials, and for that I am sorry. Thanks though - those are awesome.

Year In Recap: Best of February
In keeping with my (new) tradition, I'm recaping the best of each month over the last year here on the Skeet Thrower. I started with January (as you can imagine), so now I'm moving onto February.
I found an awesome clip for the post: Name This Country: ASIA! Nothing like making fun of stereotypes...I never do that.
I hit my 100th post in February and gave you a post ingeniously titled Its The 100th Post Extravaganza. I think Wheezy is coming up on his 100th post himself, so keep a look out for that one.
Throughout my time here at the Skeet Thrower I love to bring up some of the favorite things from my childhood. In the post Master of Turtles and a Ninja Rap I found out that some of my friends consider me a master of the Turtles. I also gave you a throwback video from Vanilla Ice.
I gave you some awesome Rainn Wilson videos (and a topical reference at the time) in the post I'm About To Make It Rainn!
I know this isn't on this blog, but someone also wrote a post about me in February. I'm now on top of her all the time - and by that I mean I'm her boss (wait...someone put me in charge of someone else? More on that some other time). What were you thinking.
Until the March recap...

Week In Recap: Life Update
So, I went to Time Warner on Friday to get my HD-DVR box for my new TV. I called TW, made sure they had HD-DVR boxes in stock, unhooked my current non-HD dvr box and went into TW to pick up my glorious new box. Of course, when I get there, they have no HD-DVR boxes in stock (they did have DVR's and HD boxes, just not the combo). Bastards. Now I'm left with my old box. The sad thing is, I worked really hard to clean my old box before I turned it in. It is gonna take a lot of work to keep that damn box clean...
I also wanted to update you to my weight resolution: no changes - I am where I was a while ago.
On to the recap: I kind of went ballistic this week on links - mainly cuz I've got too much to say (I just want to give you somewhere to waste some time) - so I'm going to post in parentheses the number of links (not including videos) on the page.
This week, on The Skeet Thrower:
- Monday was mi hermano's birthday and I gave him Chad Vader videos. (17)
- I made it Rainn on Tuesday. On a side note, you would not believe the number of emails, texts and person-to-person confirmations about other people hating Kenan as well. How is he still on that show? (15)
- Thursday: Avril, that's bush. Bush league. If you were a man, I'd punch you. (8 plus 2 bonus links from Wheezy in the comments)
- On Friday, it was raining men as I unveiled The BCS Man-Crush List. (22)
After that post on Friday, I think I know how those dudes felt after filming Brokeback Mountain. Still feeling kind of gay after that last post, so I feel that I need to compensate by posting another non-gay clip.
Here's a (SFW) clip of Tyra feeling up Kathryn McPhee.
Also, I used a form of box 9 times in the first paragraph - couldn't quite get to 10 - but that should help out.
Finally, this week's most hit post was:
Casual Dress Friday: Standing Strong from Friday February 9, 2006 - garnering hits from the Mississippi Dept. of Education, China, Vancouver and Rutgers University among others. Not sure why that was the most linked post - prolly dudes looking for that elusive hot Tara Reid picture...

There's So Much To Do
...And so little time. With late night TV returning, I'm busy watching TV again (turns out Conan is still funnier than that idiot Craig Ferguson). Plus, I've been playing the new Wii game my wife got me for Christmas (I've included the box art on the right* so you can think about what I'm doing when I'm not on the Internets) and watching football, so I'm really busy. And by busy, I mean occupied because are you really busy when all you're doing is watching TV?
Anyway, I hope you had a good New Years' celebration. I had a good time in Austin, TX (also known as a Hellhole of Sin - that's a must for anyone from Austin), unfortunately, after the party (and the ensuing night's sleep) I had to drive back to Nebraska where I summarily lost my left testicle because it jumped off my body and ran back to weather above 0 degrees. Then I pulled up my computer and saw the 1000+ number in my reader. You'd think there's no way I'd pour through all of that, but I'd be pissed if I missed a funny video to start 2K8. Sooooo, here's a couple funny videos I found.
1) Here's Rainn Wilson (aka Dwight) having a tussle with a photographer. There's some NSFW language in there, so exercise caution. If you ever wanted to see an extended Dwight fight scene with R-rated language, this is it.
2) If you shot off fireworks for New Years, I hope you followed the safety precautions outlined in this (fake, Dutch) Islamic fireworks safety video.
That was apparently banned - I'm not sure if its because of the blatant stereotypism or the fact that everyone has gone and looked right into the heart of a maybe-lit firework wondering what is going on and people don't want to be reminded how dumb they were.
3) Also, if you didn't see the National Anthem played by a group of trombones on Fox the other day, watch the first 20 seconds of this clip.
Their name is Bonerama! How can they get away with this? I'm now going to start a band called "The Code Piece Conglomeration" or "Boxfest". Get my Rock Band set.
* There is no way in hell I'm playing this game, I just thought it was funny box art. Wait, how did this game get made? Seriously - its real.
